Reflection #3
Creating My Podcast
Conceptualizing and creating my podcast was certainly an interesting but also very rewarding process. From finding out what my central theme of it would be to the process of what I will essentially be talking about on the podcast, with great help from the podcast template.
Essentially there were some challenges that I did face in creating the podcast. When creating the first episode I noticed that since I was creating this episode by myself that I was responsible for keeping up and talking for the full 20 minutes. It was a challenge but by the end I was proud of how I managed to keep up with the topics and how I delved into the different points that I wanted to get into with those specific topics. Another challenge I had faced was creating the topic points for the episode. I noticed that finding topics that go hand in hand with my digital portfolio was a bit of a challenge but did end up being adequate and the topics I chose certainly were points that I stayed engaged on.
My initial ideas for the podcast were definitely something that was going to align with my digital portfolio and with my projects going into the portfolio. I feel like I did well in choosing topics that stayed on theme with my portfolio. I also knew that I didn’t want to talk about topics that maybe I wasn’t so educated on or ones that did go on theme with my portfolio but I knew that I wouldn’t be so engaged when talking about them. So, I feel like for this first episode of my podcast that these topics were engaging for me and easier for me to speak about for the amount of time the podcast had to be.
Overall, creating and conceptualizing the podcast and everything that went with that process was very rewarding. I feel as if I learned from this process and gained new skills such as talking about topics for a specific amount of time or even editing the podcast itself, both good experiences to have. Since I do have other episodes that need to be uploaded in the future, this experience with the first episode will definitely be something that I’ll take into account for these next episodes.
