Choosing My Blogs Theme

When finding a general theme for my blog I felt inspired to choose what has always been a passion of mine for as long as I can remember, and that is music. Choosing music as my central idea for the blog was a no brainer considering it takes up such a huge part of my life.

Obstacles that I had to face when creating the blog were not many, considering when talking about anything music related I tend to just let the words flow out of me. But, there were a handful of problems that I had to overcome when creating the blog. One obstacle I had to overcome was the indecisiveness of the design. When choosing different pictures or different color schemes I found it difficult to make everything look cohesive and aesthetically pleasing. The organized and pleasing look of the blog itself was very important to me so finding what I should put, where I should put it and everything along with what the design should be was a very difficult and tedious process that I had to conquer. Another obstacle that I found out was when creating the blog posts themselves. The process of forming the blog posts and finding a fine line whether to create an engaging post with the audience that they can relate to or to create professional style posts, not so much engaging and relatable but more tame and full of facts. I found that I tended to make more posts engaging with the audience rather than professional style posts but I also realized that I shouldn’t shy away from them and could maybe upload more in the future in that type of style.

To construct the blog itself there were several tools that had helped me create the site. These tools included the app shuffles to create the homepage collage and the blog post cover pictures. Another tool used was the wix features themselves, making use of the embedded media feature and including several pictures in my posts. Some techniques that I used to bring the project to life were trying to bring a certain vibe to my site. Implementing different color schemes and pictures really brought my blog to life, making it look exactly how I wanted it to be.

The outcome of this blog really had exceeded my expectations. Not only did this project start as a class project but ended up being an enjoyable experience where I had a forum to use a blog as a creative outlet, letting out my passion for music in written form. Creating the blog was such a valuable and learning experience where I figured out how to create and design a blog with a theme that I adore. The overall process of this blog and how it ended up turning out was gratifying and will definitely be an experience that I will continue and something that could potentially help me with any more creative projects in the future.
